Information We Collect
PDF to Paprika is designed with a privacy-first approach. We do not require you to create an account, provide your name, email address, or any other personal information to use our converter. We do not collect or store any personal data beyond what is strictly necessary to operate the website.
How We Process Your Files
When you upload a recipe file (PDF, DOCX, TXT, or HTML), your file is sent to our server for processing. Here is exactly what happens:
- Your file is read into memory and sent to a third-party text-processing service (Anthropic Claude) to extract recipe information.
- The extracted recipe data is formatted into the .paprikarecipes format and returned to your browser.
- Your original file and the extracted data are discarded from memory immediately after conversion completes.
- We never write your files to disk, store them in a database, or retain them in any way after processing.
Third-Party Services
PDF to Paprika uses the following third-party services:
- Anthropic API (Claude):We send the text content of your uploaded files to Anthropic's Claude API for recipe extraction. Anthropic's use of this data is governed by their privacy policy. Per Anthropic's API terms, data sent through the API is not used to train their models.
Cookies
PDF to Paprika does not set any first-party cookies. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.
Data Retention
We do not retain any user-uploaded files or extracted recipe data. All file processing occurs in memory and data is discarded immediately upon completion of the conversion. We do not maintain any databases of user content.
Children's Privacy (COPPA)
PDF to Paprika is a general-audience tool and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. Since we do not collect personal information from any users, there is no data to delete in the event that a child uses our service.
